The diffuse technique is applicable to powders, foams, fibers, coal, paper, paints, plastics, polymer coatings and many other samples where conventional analytical techniques are difficult or impossible to use.

The EasiDiff Diffuse Reflectance kits includes micro and macro sample cups (2 each), KBr powder, sample funnel, shuttle for sample cups, 35mm agate mortar/pestle, 2 spatulas and a camel hair brush.

For higher volume sampling, an Automated Diffuse Reflectance Accessory is available. The AutoDiff II was developed to analyze multiple samples with minimal user intervention. Typical applications include powdered pharmaceutical samples, high throughput forensic sampling, kidney stone analysis, soils and analysis of many other powdered samples where speed and efficiency are important. The design employs an automated sampling stage with positions for up to 60 samples, providing diffuse reflectance analysis with greatly reduced operator intervention and increased sample throughput. Software is integrated to control motion and data acquisition.

For more demanding applications, a research grade diffuse reflectance accessory is also available for advanced temperature studies of materials in accurately controlled and monitored environmental chambers. The DiffusIR has proven to be the world’s most robust and versatile diffuse reflectance accessory for analytical sampling under extreme conditions. It is the only diffuse reflectance accessory capable of performing in the UV, NIR and Mid-IR that is precision designed and engineered to operate at cryogenic temperatures down to -150°C and at elevated temperatures up to 1000°C with an added feature of high pressure operation up to 1500 psi.
