REFLEX Analytical offers custom circular evacuable pellet die assemblies.
Scroll below for pricing and order details for diameters in the range from 5mm up to 45mm.Customized geometries are encouraged and available upon request. Contact REFLEX Analytical with the die specification your application requires. Since each die is a special fabrication, we do not want any user to be at a loss in productivity in the unfortunate event of fracturing one or two of the original anvils (for example, accidentally dropping the anvil or applying too much load to the anvil; a second set of anvils is included in the total cost of each die.
The dies are precision fabricated from high quality hardened 440C stainless steel. The hardened 440C stainless steel die assemblies include a main chamber body with an evacuable base for vacuum attachment, (2) o-rings, (4) optically polished anvils, a plunger and a sample extractor cup to facilitate sample removal. The evacuable design feature with the use of a small lab
oil-less vacuum pump permits easy installation of anvils and plunger without the vacuum resistance normally associated with non-evacuable dies.
Tungsten carbide anvils are optional. Typically, tungsten carbide anvils are preferred when working with hard mineral like or ceramic type materials. Notably, the tungsten carbide transverse rupture strength is 500,000 psi and hardened 440C stainless steel is 100,000 psi. Therefore theoretically, tungsten carbide offers 5x the compression strength when compared to hardened 440C stainless steel.
