Tungsten Carbide Non-Evacuable Pellet Dies
REFLEX Analytical's offers custom pellet dies completely precision fabricated from Tungsten Carbide with the capability of operating up to 760°C maximum temperature. Assemblies are available in circular, square, rectangular and customer specified geometries.
Sizes range from 3mm up to 1 1/8 inches. Larger diameter, customized geometries and dimensions are encouraged and available upon request. Contact REFLEX Analytical with the die specification your application requires.
The die components include a Tungsten Carbide chamber, a Tungsten Carbide base plug, Tungsten Carbide anvils (2), a Tungsten Carbide plunger and an extraction ring to facilitate sample pellet removal. An optional centered thermocouple port is available upon request for a customer supplied thermocouple and independent temperature read out.
For die sizes ranging from 3mm up to 1 1/8 inches, the overall assembled height including the die chamber, stepped baseplate, two anvils and plunger but without sample powder is 104mm. The die chamber only dimensions are 50mm height x 45mm outside diameter with each anvil measuring 10mm thickness (two anvils are typically used for pellet fabrication although one anvil could be used for thicker pellet fabrication). Larger diameter, customized geometries and dimensions are encouraged and available.
REFLEX Analytical recommends the review of the die chamber height to confirm there is adequate space to produce a sample pellet to the desired pellet thickness. If required, the chamber height and plunger length can be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, please assure there sufficient distance between the top and bottom press rams. The pellet dies are commonly used with our series of laboratory presses.
REFLEX Analytical offers a a 200°C heating jacket and digital temperature controller although Tungsten Carbide dies can be heated up to 760°C maximum temperature using a customer supplied band heater and temperature controller.
