These plastic materials are well suited for photonic, spectroscopic and many other applications providing for optical clarity, chemical resistance, and low fluorescence. They are significantly lighter than glass and other UV-Vis-NIR optical materials which provides a particular advantage as optics increase in size. In cases requiring high impact resistance, optical plastic components are the preferred choice.
Windows, lenses, mirrors, prisms and custom components are precision manufactured by accurate micro milling and Diamond machining achieving a dimensional tolerance (+/-0.002"), flatness within 0.005" and a standard surface finish under 32 micro inches. The fabrication process contributes to repeatability for high volume requirements.
Custom components are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisite. If required, anti-reflection coatings and metallizations can also be supported.
