Optical Coatings and Metallization
REFLEX Analytical enhances the performance of their broad
line of optics with high quality spectral coatings from 180nm to 25µm. The optical coatings are designed to support long and short wavelength bandpass filters, bandstop filters, broadband anti-reflective, multi-layer
V coat anti-reflective, edge filters, Magnesium Fluoride anti-reflective, dichroics, DLC hard carbon and mirror coatings.
Options include optical edge and surface metallization for hermetic seal and various solder applications. Metallization is a superior alternative to epoxies for bonding and sealing. Proprietary formulas composed of numerous types and amounts of metals are used and vary dependent upon the substrate being metallized. Applications requiring double surface metallization can easily be provided as is the case for endoscopes which necessitate a double seal to facilitate autoclaving. Tooling can be engineered and fabricated to support a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The metallization can be applied to a wide variety of substrates which offers excellent adhesion and passes testing for solderability, humidity, high temperature and cryogenic usage.
Substrates include but are not limited to optical glass, BaF2, CaF2, Fused Silica, Ge, Sapphire, ZnS, ZnSe, diamond-turned or nickel-plated metal surfaces.
The materials processed meet strict quality control standards with spectral characteristics meeting or exceeding the performance requirements. Custom coatings and metallization services are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications
and tolerances are prerequisite.
