The 8 Ton Auto Press is a development in reply to requests offered by the IR and XRF spectroscopic community. The design provides for an economical solution, combined with the features of safety and automation to uniformly and reproducibly prepare samples. The hydraulic power unit is electrically operated and completely self-contained. An integral safety shield with a clear, impact resistant access door surrounds the work area. For added safety, the door is interlocked with an emergency sensor which disengages press operation in the open position. Contributing to convenient bench-top installation is its compactness which consumes less than two square feet.
Operating parameters are easily programmed with keypad entry and digital display. The electronics provide for programming pressure (1 - 8 tons), dwell time ( 6 - 5940 seconds), press cycling and review of operational diagnostics. Operator input permits storing 6 programs with a maximum of 10
program segments. The operator can also select from fast, medium or slow decompression rates. The ram stroke automatically opens and closes with single button control.
The assembly consists of rigid side slab construction, safety shield, 1.25" top bolster diameter, 3.25" round platen, and a microprocessor control system. The round platen provides ample area for large dies, sample holders
and heated platens commonly used with the constant thickness film maker. Included is provision for vacuum line connection to pellet dies and connection for USB computer interface.
Press dimensions are 21.50" - 25.25"H x 16.75"W x 16"D. The ram stroke is 1.0" with maximum 6.10" daylight. Weighs 209 lbs. Assembled for 110V or 220V electrical input. CE models are available.
If required, refer to Part No. 15515 for optional 4" round water cooled, 300C heating platens with temperature controller. The heated platens are able to withstand pressure up to a maximum 15 tons.
