pellet dies. Standard sizes range from 3 - 45mm diameter and are used routinely for IR, XRF and XRD powdered sample
preparation. The order details provide for our popular 13mm evacuable pellet die. Larger diameter, customized geometries and dimensions are encouraged and available upon request for evacuable and non-evacuable type dies.

The dies are commonly used with our series of laboratory presses. Each die is manufactured from hardened stainless steel and includes a main body with a vacuum attachment, base, (2) polished pellets, plunger, (2) vacuum "o" rings and extractor ring.
Several options are available and can be ordered separately. They include tungsten carbide pellets, a vacuum pump and a 13mm magnetic sample holder with integral mount. Tungsten carbide pellets are ideal for hard or abrasive powdered sample materials which may tend to mar the surface of stainless steel pellets. A vacuum pump is recommended to assist with the production of moisture free, clear pellets. The 13mm magnetic holder and mount permits permanent alignment with the infrared beam when performing analysis.
