CO2 Laser Lens Protector
The Lens Protector is a CO2 laser precision optic fabricated from Potassium Chloride (KCl). The KCl lens protector is a cost effective solution to maximize the productive life of a Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) focus lens within a CO2 laser system designed for cutting, welding or laser engraving at 10.6 micron.
The KCl lens protector establishes nobility as a focus lens shield against airborne particles (back spatter, fumes) and the variety of contaminants surrounding the work area. Most lens mounts are designed to provide adequate space for the insertion of a KCl plano-plano lens protector in front of the ZnSe focusing lens. REFLEX suggests confirming the available space within the ZnSe focus lens mount or laser head since there is variation depending upon the laser manufacturer and the ZnSe focus lens edge thickness. KCl lens protectors can be supplied as thin as 2mm. The diameter of the lens protector would be the same as the ZnSe focus lens diameter.
