REFLEX Analytical Corporation introduces the long anticipated single grinding mill that offers a flexible design to perform wet grinding, cryogenic grinding, dry grinding and cell disruption. Replacing several mills to attend to the aforementioned tasks, this robust mill becomes the single most cost effective grinding solution. Sample volume can range from 2 - 20ml. Sample sizes up to 8mm can be introduced and 5m particle size achieved depending upon the nature of sample material and mill settings.

The image above (click to enlarge) displays a single sample vial on the right hand side within the retainer. On the left is a counter weight. Only one vial can be used for each grinding session. Select from four different stainless steel, screw cap vial sizes (5ml, 25ml, 35ml and 50ml). The grinding vial is constantly cooled with liquid Nitrogen from the integrated cooling system before and during the grinding process. Thus the sample is embrittled and volatile components are preserved. The liquid Nitrogen circulates through the system and is continually replenished from an auto-fill system in the exact amount which is required to keep the temperature at 196 C. The liquid Nitrogen is connected on the back of the unit then travels through a Dewar sensor and fills the chamber retaining the vial. The automatic cooling system guarantees that the grinding process is not started before the sample is thoroughly cooled. This results in reduced consumption and guarantees reproducible grinding results.

Other features provide for digital speed control (3 - 25 impacts/second) and programmable grinding duration (0.16 - 99 minutes). The mill measures 15" x 14.5" x 22.5" and weighs 101lbs.
