The Pearl Analyzer incorporates an Oyster Cell held in a horizontal plane which as the name Oyster implies invites a simple introduction of sample onto the pre-aligned bottom shell surface then interfaced with the pre-aligned top shell surface. Remove the top shell, clean the surfaces using using a soft tissue with an appropriate solvent and your ready for your next sample. The Oyster Cells are highly suitable for analyzing viscous dairy products.
Additionally, the Oyster Cell has been designed to provide a more accurate pathlength when compared to traditional liquid transmission cells; notably pathlengths are repeatable to less than 1μm for quantitative analysis. The Oyster Cells are available with either parallel or wedged windows to eliminate in some cases troublesome fringing patterns.
The Pearl Analyzer permits the easy interchange of Oyster Cells which can be fitted with ZnSe or CaF2 windows and available in six pathlengths including 25μm, 50μm, 100μm, 200μm, 500μm and 1,000μm. To interchange pathlengths, simply replace the bottom Oyster shell.
