The demountable PTFE Liquid Cell is a development in reply to requests offered by the spectroscopy community for a chemically resistant design. The cell body and spacers are fabricated from PTFE thereby eliminating the risk of liquids and semi-solids from permeating and absorbing into the surfaces typical of metal bodied cells. Analysts have confirmed the PTFE body prevents degradation and cross contamination from residual sampling.
The order details provide for a 8mm clear aperture demountable PTFE liquid cell with viton o-ring seals and assorted PTFE spacers permitting pathlength variation from 25 - 500um. The cell can be ordered with
luer-lok fittings for static investigations or with tube fittings for flow-through operation (specify 1/16" or 1/8" tube fittings when ordering). Assembly and operational instructions are enclosed with the cell. The cell requires standard 13mm x 2mm undrilled windows. Optional kalrez seals for greater chemical resistance and PTFE spacers to extend the pathlength range from 6 - 1000um are available upon request.
The choice of window materials include but are not limited to BaF2 Barium Fluoride, CaF2 Calcium Fluoride, KBr Potassium Bromide, KCl Potassium Chloride, KRS-5 Thallium Bromide Iodide, NaCl Sodium Chloride, Sapphire, ZnS Zinc Sulfide Cleartran and ZnSe Zinc Selenide.
