Specialty Mid-IR Fibers

REFLEX Analytical continues to add to its line of specialty fiberoptics and has introduced ultra low loss mid-infrared fibers that can handle high laser power density required in military, industrial and medical products. Cable assemblies support > 1 GW/cm2 of pulsed optical power density and perform over a broad mid-IR wavelength range from 2 to 9 microns. Applications include infrared counter measure (IRCM), infrared spectroscopy, infrared fiber bundle imaging (FLIR), Er:YAG laser beam delivery and many other high power laser demands. The fiber materials are insoluble in water and chemically resistant to harsh acids and solvents such as concentrated hydrochloric acid, non-oxidizing acids, gasoline, toluol, alcohol and acetone.
