Product Description

The Polarizer Rotator for Slide Mount Accessories is a design incorporating the features of the Universal 360 degree Polarizer Rotator and the Crossed Polarizer Rotator although includes a 3" x 2" slide mount for FTIR accessories with 3" x 2" backplates.

To permit identifying the individual components more clearly, the Rotator is not pictured fully assembled. As depicted, the rotator is assembled with a 3" x 2" backplate and base tapped holes for bread board or optical bench mounting. When used with FTIR instrumentation, the rotator is installed within the sample compartment's slide mount. To accommodate bread board and optical bench mounting, a 120mm post is supplied. The black anodized rotator features a 5 degree graduated scale and 360 degree rotation. A positive lock mechanism ensures an accurate position until released. The design accepts either a 29mm diameter x 2mm thick polarizer substrates housed within a 25mm clear aperture mounting ring or a 25 x 2mm thick polarizer substrates housed within a 18mm clear aperture mounting ring. The same substrate dimensions apply to attach a second polarizer for crossed polarization requirements. Specify rotator to accommodate 29mm or 25mm substrates when ordering.

The slide mount is suitable for all reflectance accessories and cells having a 3" x 2" backplate while the assembly offers provisions for inserting one polarizer within the rotary mount while the second polarizer is located and secured over the first for crossed polarization requirements. Each polarizer can be rotated 360 degrees independent of the other. A lens, beamsplitter or filter could be used in place of the second polarizer. The removable polarizer mounting rings permits easy and convenient interchange among the various polarizer materials offered by REFLEX Analytical. An accessory case is supplied for safe transport and storage.
