Infrared Night Vision Filters

Infrared Night Vision Filters
REFLEX Analytical's optical ingenuity and engineering introduces a new development in reply to requests offered by the United States and Allied Militaries. National Security Forces worldwide can now eliminate the vulnerability of white light generated from unfiltered headlights, head lamps, flashlights and other visible lighting devices.

REFLEX Analytical proudly offers far superior Infrared Night Vision Filters to complement their manufacture of forward looking infrared (FLIR) optics that are incorporated within night vision assemblies. The Infrared Night Vision Filters block 100% of the visible light spectrum and is used in conjunction with night vision equipment to optimize overall tactical effectiveness. The Infrared Night Vision Filters are employed by the military, law enforcement and industry. There are many covert operations in which unfiltered brightness from a flashlight or tactical lighting alerts a perpetrator, intruder, or enemy. The Infrared Night Vision Filters essentially transform any light into an infrared flashlight for night vision devices and maximizes the vision and safety of personnel. Military and law enforcement are utilizing Infrared Night Vision Filters for tactical night time operations by covering flashlights, spotlights, off road lights, search lights, vehicle headlights, tail lights and running lights to mask the visible bright light to the naked eye while still permitting night vision devices to clearly see the light. The Infrared Night Vision Filters allow personnel to facilitate a safer, faster and more efficient means of mobility and stability. The series permits maximum infrared light output to identify the subject under surveillance with precision while maintaining demanding covertness.

The Infrared Night Vision Filters are produced from a tempered specialty glass with a uniquely formulated coating for high transmission performance and durability. The Infrared Night Vision Filters can withstand temperatures > 500F while polymer based polysulfone infrared filters cannot withstand high wattage bulbs producing > 200F temperatures. Unlike a polymer based polysulfone infrared filter which has a limited and fixed wavelength transmission range, REFLEX Analytical routinely produces Infrared Night Vision Filters at various wavelengths that is dependent on the application and night vision device. More importantly, the series of Infrared Night Vision Filters offers field operators the ability to see at distances 4x greater when comparison is made to polymer based polysulfone infrared filters. Compare the transmission values that are associated with REFLEX Analytical's Infrared Night Vision Filters (> 90%) vs. the polymer based polysulfone filter (~ 50%) and the performance difference becomes more obvious and noble. The greater transmission values associated with the Infrared Night Vision Filters translates into greater illumination over a wider area at a longer distance thereby providing for higher object definition and contrast. Another important feature is the Infrared Night Vision Filters' ability to block 100% of the visible light spectrum and not 99% that the polymer based polysulfone filter proclaims. The 1% visible light leakage is unacceptable within covert operations and particularly in threatening situations. Understanding the performance differences between REFLEX Analytical's Infrared Night Vision Filters vs. polymer based polysulfone filters is critical and could be a costly mistake if overlooked. We urge you to contact REFLEX Analytical with any questions. Transmission performance curves are readily available upon request.

Infrared Night Vision Filters are available in circular, rectangular and square dimensions without size limitations. Other geometries can be custom configured to adapt to specific needs or applications. There are no expensive tooling charges which is typical of a custom dimension polymer based polysulfone infrared filter. REFLEX Analytical also has the capability to produce and assemble Aluminum housings that can be powder coated black, tan or olive drab for mounting to existing hardware (scroll below).
